In 2010, California voted on a ballot initiative that would have legalized marijuana for recreational use. The painting below was something my father created that could have served as the state flag, if the initiative passed.
Of course, in that year, that initiative did not pass, and unfortunately, the flag could not be used. It’s too bad that California legalized marijuana just months after Dan passed away – he could have submitted this flag for consideration!
