Two paintings that Dan made after a cruise to Canada in 2010. A bit creepy — but playfully so; in series there seems to be a narrative.
Here’s what he said about them in an email on May 21, 2010:
they started life as line sketches taken from cabaretesque wall decorations i found onboard the cruise ship. I exaggerated the images, of course, and then added the color via PS to get some ideas how to go larger scale (think 3’X3′ or bigger).
